Terms of Service

These terms cover Versera and versera.io, operated by Arina Prokhorenko, an individual based in Spain. Identification and contact details are in the legal notice. Contact [email protected]. By using the service, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains personal-data processing.

Your account

You must be at least 14, or the higher age required to consent to these services where you live. Protect your sign-in credentials and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for your use of the service, but these terms do not make you responsible for failures caused by us. You can delete your account in the app without contacting support.

Reading and your content

Versera supports reading EPUBs, translation, saved vocabulary and on-device practice. Reading, catalog access, vocabulary, practice and statistics are free. Supported formats and languages, connection requirements and limits are described in the app. Downloads and saved data may work offline; new translations and generated speech require a connection.

You retain rights in uploaded books and covers. You authorise us to store and process them only as needed to provide these features and sync them to your devices. Only upload material you may lawfully copy and use this way. Identical files may share storage; this does not publish your library. Our catalog is curated, but copyright status depends on the work, edition and territory. Contact us with the title, edition, territory and supporting details if you believe a catalog item infringes rights.

Do not infringe others' rights, submit unlawful or abusive material, compromise accounts, automate excessive use or bypass usage limits. Support messages and reports must not contain threats, harassment or personal information you have no right to disclose.

AI features

Translations, explanations and speech are generated automatically and may be inaccurate. Do not rely on them as professional advice or certified translations. The privacy policy explains the book text sent to OpenAI to provide these features. Do not submit sensitive or confidential documents.

Versera+

Versera+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. The purchase screen and Apple confirmation show the available duration, total price, currency, renewal terms and any eligible trial before you confirm. Trials depend on Apple's eligibility rules; a trial is not available to everyone.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, subscriptions renew automatically and Apple may charge within the preceding 24 hours. A free trial becomes paid at the displayed price when it ends unless cancelled in time. A local trial reminder depends on notification permission and device delivery; it is not a cancellation service or a guarantee that you will be notified.

Manage or cancel through the app's Manage Subscription control or your Apple Account's subscription settings. Restore eligible purchases using Restore in the subscription offer. Deleting the app or your Versera account does not cancel billing. Refund requests go through Apple's refund service; statutory consumer rights still apply.

Plus raises translation, read-aloud and personal-upload limits. Features described as unlimited are subject to fair use and technical limits. A daily allowance resets at midnight UTC. The upload allowance limits how many uploaded books your library holds; deleting an upload frees a slot. Files must be EPUBs of at most 35 MB, and each read-aloud request is limited in length. Reaching a limit does not authorise an extra charge. The app explains when a feature is temporarily unavailable.

Changes to subscription prices or material paid features are subject to Apple's processes and applicable notice, consent and consumer-law requirements. These terms do not permit us to disregard rights attached to a period you have already purchased.

Availability, complaints and ending use

We maintain the service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free generated results. Keep original copies of uploaded files. We may restrict misuse or remove infringing content; where appropriate we explain the reason and let you contact us to dispute an action.

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. See account deletion for what is removed and what may remain. Contact support for problems with access, purchases, content or these terms.

Applicable terms and law

Apple's standard licensed application agreement applies to the app licence unless a different applicable licence is presented by Apple. These service terms do not replace Apple's billing terms or limit mandatory consumer rights.

Spanish law applies, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or courts available under the law of their habitual residence. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We will communicate material changes as required; the date above identifies this version.
